2023 Get Involved Awards
Successful co-created research projects have started and have until the end of January 2026 to complete their project.
Do you have a local issue that needs researching? Have you got a problem in your community that you want to resolve, or an idea to help the city? You can get involved in community research with us!
Community groups, charities and social enterprises can apply to work with University of 50¶È»Ò’s researchers, to better understand a problem in their local area and to gain valuable insights. By developing new projects, we aim to build a network of community groups working with academics to exchange ideas and respond to real community challenges for our city in 2025.

Get Involved Awards can help communities to:

Previous award winners

2025 marks the forth year of inviting communities to apply to work with our researchers to find sustainable solutions to community problems, challenges and new ideas through research. We funded six projects in 2022, eight in 2023 and a further 6 in 2025, from a range of community partner and researcher partnerships.
2022 Get Involved Awards
Up to six projects will receive £6,000–£8,000 each paid to their research team to fund researcher and project costs.

What’s the process?

The Get Involved Awards application process follows five key steps to capture the problem or challenge, match researchers to organisations and enable co-creation of research in the city by making funding awards.
Applicants and award winners will be supported throughout the process by the University of 50¶È»Ò Public Engagement Team.
